Steve L Tidman:
Steve is Care and Activity Coordinator professional who has lived in the same house in the West Midlands all his life. As a child he developed a keen interest in ornithology and a self-taught passion for art; interests that he has now combined to devise dementia friendly art and nature activities for Age UK. His dementia friendly RSPB / Age UK Birdwatch, in particular, has attracted interest from the BBC, the University of Birmingham and from as far afield as America and Canada, and ABC in Australia are including his Dementia Friendly art class in their upcoming documentary on social care. In the past, he also developed dementia friendly colouring books and assisted Sandwell Police to develop their “Choices” booklet, aimed at deterring youngsters from crime. Currently, he also delivers Social Easels ("Paint and Sip" events); relaxed, beginner-friendly social painting sessions around the wider Birmingham and West Midlands region.
All of Steve’s sculptures are created from recycled material.
